We start by driving in our modified super trucks along the south shore, heading for one of Iceland's most coveted secrets, Þórsmörk, or "The Woods of Thor." Among the stops we'll make on our way are Seljalandsfoss, a waterfall you can actually walk behind, and the glacial lagoon, Eyjafjallajökull. Glaciers and mountains surround Þórsmörk on three sides, creating favorable growth conditions for over 170 plant species found in the area. Many walking paths are marked in Þórsmörk, making it a desirable and safe place for short hikes with views of glaciers, woodlands and other colorful scenic views.
