Iceland’s scenic views are far from bleak, featureless landscapes. They are
alive with skyscraping glacial peaks, and frothy, steaming spikes of geyser
sprays. The Winter Pearl Tour allows you to experience Iceland’s rich natural
resources by bringing you face-to-face with the action. You’ll speed over 30
miles of the country’s largest glacier, visit hot aqua-blue geyser pools and
many more adventurous pursuits. Most of the country is accessible by an ATV, but
our clients also like Adventure Snowmobiling as a way to experience this frozen
wonderland.
The Winter Pearl Tour’s first stop is Þingvellir National Park, which is one
of Iceland's most significant historical sites where its first parliament was
founded at 930 A.D. From Гћingvellir, the tour proceeds along mountain tracks
toward the world-famous geothermal area, Geysir, the area from which all other
geysers take their name. After lunch, we continue on to Gullfoss where you’ll be
consumed in plumes of saturating mist. From there you’ll get the choice to take
[1] a snowmobiling tour on Langjökull glacier, or [2] a quad bike tour through
mountainous desert highlands.
After your full day of action, we take a
scenic drive through the countryside, and pass through the greenhouse village of
Hveragerði. You’ll get the chance to make a short photo stop at the extinct
volcanic crater, KeriГ°, on our way back to ReykjavГk.
